Making a decision to adopt a puppy is a big one. We created a list of common questions that you may have! Don’t see your question? Fell free to reach out to us!
Will you guys ship the puppy to us?
Yes! We ship across the country via Nanny if you decide to not come to California to pick up your pup! Shipping your pup is an added fee. *UPDATE: March 2020 we are currently may not be able to fly out our puppies due to the current pandemic. We are hopefully be lifted in the near future. As of now, we are shipping our puppies via ground shipping. However, this is NOT a guarantee! This could change depending if the transporters we use are still available or not. If you can fly out and fly pup back (you need to make sure your airlines know you will be fly back with a dog before booking your flights) with you then great, we will just need to be notified of this at least 1week in advance so we have time to make the appointment with the vet for the documents the airlines require for the pup to fly; right now our vets office is backed up so getting an appointment might take a day or 2. *NOTE there is still a fee for this which will only be to cover the necessary items that is required for pup to fly (like the crate, and other items).
Do you offer ground shipping?
Yes! Prices will vary on this, so feel free to reach out to us! Just so you know we have found, at least for us, ground shipping is usually cheaper than fly in cabin with a nanny service. UPDATE: June 2020 We can NOT guarantee ground transportation due to whats going on in the US! It can change at any time depending if the transporters we use are still available or not. I will not use any other, so please do not ask. The company we use are trusted by us and have been transporting our babies for a long time. They handle all of our babies like their own and I will not have it any other way.
Do you have a wait-list?
Yes! Right now, we are having a high amount of puppy inquiries. Once you have contacted us and went through the approval process you will place you on our list. Once a pregnancy is confirmed we will contact the interested parties on our list by order received to see if your still interested, if someone is no longer interested they will be removed at this time all others will receive an email or text letting you know when the pups were born along with other information regarding the litter. Then once the litter has passed the critical stage we will contact you again via a phone call (normally a week or 2 after) and give you an opportunity to place your deposit for any of our available pups. If you No answer and no call back was made OR you wish to wait OR no deposit is placed in a timely manner or(this will be agreed how long we will give you during this call) we will move on to the next in line.
I see a puppy that I like as “Pending”. What does this mean?
It means that the potential owner has placed a deposit and the puppy is now on hold! In rare cases, at no fault of their own, a puppy may go back up as available, so check back regularly to see if the puppy has gone up as available again!
How does the application process work?
We interview all of our applicants to ensure our puppies will be going to great homes! We want to ensure the new puppy and family are a good fit. During the phone call go over the puppy inquire questionnaire, ask you questions, and then answer any questions you may have for us! Getting to know all of my potential families is very important to us. The approval decision will be made at the end of the call and you’ll then be able to make a deposit if approved! We can’t wait to get in contact with you! You can see the Puppy Inquire HERE
How can I make an appointment to meet a puppy?
So, you are ready to meet the puppy that makes your heart melt! You can set up an available time to meet the pup of your dreams by contacting us HERE with your ideal date(s)/time(s) and we will set up a time for you to come meet the pup of your dreams! UPDATE: April 2020 - We are currently not doing any puppy home visitations due to COVID-19. This is to protect our families, puppies, and YOU, our customers. We are also not permitting any pickups from our home. We will meet in a public, and well protect area so that all involved are safe.
Are the puppies up to date on vaccines?
Yes! Our DDB puppies are completely up-to-date on vaccinations and we start them all on a dewormer schedule starting at 3-3.5weeks of age and will continue every 2 weeks until they go home. All have records of this that will be supplied to you in their puppy packet. Vet checks (at 6 weeks, in depth - checks for luxating patellas, heart murmurs, underbite or overbite, & ears), are done before your puppy goes home with you!
Are your breeding dogs health tested?
Yes! Our breeders are all health tested (x-rays) and DNA'd. We are also conducting an even more intense Health screening by having our dogs genetically tested by Embark for 160 conditions/diseases so that you know you are getting exactly what your looking for in the perfect healthy pup.
What does it mean to put a deposit down on a dog?
We require a $1000 deposit down on a pup that is nonrefundable. This $1000 deposit puts your pup on hold before you pick them up for adoption!
How can I reserve a dog?
You can reserve a dog by paying a $1000 deposit down after contact us. Once approved & deposit is received, your puppy will be updated as RESERVED but not before. We do have a first come first serve policy so please get us the deposit as soon as possible, in the past we have had several approved families interested in the same pup and if the deposit is not placed as soon as you are approved then you will possibly give another family the opportunity to adopt that pup. I will let you know during our conversation if there are others interested so your aware. *This deposit is nonrefundable*
What form of payment do you take for reserving a puppy?
We accept payment through Paypal, Venmo, CashApp, Zelle, Apple Pay, Western union, Walmart to Walmart, Bank(wire) transfers & Cash for the deposits. Please message us regarding which payment method works best for you! NO Personal checks or MO's are acceptable payments for deposits. For all other payments such as pay offs or installments only PayPal (friends and family), Bank(wire) transfers, Walmart to Walmart, Western Union or Cash will be permitted. We may be able to take a cashiers check or money order if there is enough time for my bank to process and clear it.
Why do you not expect any other form of payment when accepting pay off or installments?
Unfortunately I have had way to many times where I have used other services such as PayPal goods & services or Venmo and even Checks where once the new family received their pup they immediately placed a refund or a stop payment. Since these services are only their to help buyers we were left having to go take them to court using more funds and even then if they showed up but with out pup We were out of a puppy and money (most people dont pay right away and I have to file again to place liens etc. to get them pay.) Now I understand the majority of my new puppy parents are not like this but it only takes 1 and in our case 4 to ruin it. I can not risk this happening again and to protect us we can no longer offer any other ways of payments.
We are always told not to send money via Western Union or only PayPal goods & services to protect us?
If there is every any problems with pup I have an extensive health agreement / contract that is in place to protect breeder and buyer. I stand behind my contract 100% and in these times of internet and reviews we do not mess around. Our name and word means everything to us and even 1 negative review is unacceptable. I am not like other breeders where you have to take them at their word either. You will have every opportunity to see your pup in person, we have a open door policy here so that puppy parents can come see their pup as long as pup has received their first set of shots and we have no new litters that have not received their first set of shots yet. Even if thats the case we will make an appointment where you can come see your pup and spend time with them in a safe place away from other litter(s) (assuming pup has had their first set of shots). Unfortunately if your pup has not had at least their first set of shots you will not be permitted on premises to protect the health and safety of our pups BUT you will have every opportunity to video chat and see them that way until then.
UPDATE: April 2020 Our "open door" policy has been terminated until further notice due to COVID. Our new families all though you will not be permitted to come in person you will be able to see your pup in videos as they grow and you will have every opportunity to see your pup live via web chat so long as we have time. And to help ease your fears we will do everything we possible can to make an in person visit for you once the pups have had their first set of shots in a local, safe. public place. As we can not guarantee this we are very hopeful that things will go back to some normalcy and you will be able to see your growing pup. Times are strange and things are difficult but we will navigate this together and I will always be here for any questions and or concerns you may have.
When can I take my puppy home?
Puppies are available to take home at 8 weeks sometimes longer if we feel they need to. I will let you know at our initial meeting or phone call when you can expect them home assuming the litter has already dropped (this may change depending if we feel pups need a little more time to mature). This will never exceed 12 weeks of age!
Do the puppies come potty-trained?
While our puppies do not come fully potty trained, they are trained at a very young age to use pads, and to use the restroom outdoors . Most of our new owners say that the transition to their new environment is easy and the training they did have went a long way and most have had only a few accidents if any. We give each and every one of our pups the very best start in life which in turns makes transitioning to their new homes much much more easier and pleasant for all involved. Are the puppies spayed/neutered before leaving?
No, it is not healthy to do so until the dog is at the very least 1yr of age and since health is our top priority we ask and expect all of our new puppy owners to refrain from this until then. We do recommend you wait until the age of 2yrs once pup is full done growing. The longer you can hold off the better. That of course means while your pup continues to grow you must practice common sense puppy/dog ownership and never let your bitch in heat to get out or your intact male left along around in heat bitches. Not only can this result in an unwanted and unplanned pregnancy it also can be potentially dangerous. Breeding is not something to be taken lightly. It really can jeopardize the safety and even health of your pups on both sides.
